Progress is being made to make all Scottish public library catalogues available on the web, giving library users the opportunity to search the catalogue from home, work or at any Internet access point.

Users of all Scottish public libraries are able to access the following electronic subscription services:

ProQuest: Know UK

All libraries in Scotland can access over 100 up to date reference titles, a feat that no library authority could achieve in the past. Titles include biographies, encyclopaedias, travel guides, events, government information, history and local information.

Newsbank

Libraries have on line access to 5 newspapers. The titles available are the Herald, the Scotsman, the Guardian, the Independent and the Daily Record. The Sunday editions are also available.
