Call for IDF 2008 now open

SLIC's strategic plan identifies the following priorities:

  • Quality, standards and evaluation
  • Innovation and Service Development
  • Mapping, Development and Promotion of the Scottish Information Environment
  • Co-ordination, Collaboration and Co-operation
  • Workforce Development

Funding will be considered for a range of activities including, research, impact analysis, service development, staff training, pilot creation of new resources and evaluation of new technology, case studies, preparation of good practice guides or promotion of standards. The objective of raising quality of provision should be clear in application submissions.

For 2008 SLIC is particularly interested in stimulating evidence based research projects on:

  • shared library services across the sectors with particular reference to attitudinal and cultural factors in their success or failure
  • the functioning of library trusts as a model for library service delivery
  • The Board are also particularly keen to encourage development and testing of training packages on widening access and use of Web 2.0 technology.

Timetable & documentation for applications

Funding call opens 11 Feb 2008; Deadline for submission 7 March 2008; Awards announced and projects commence April 2008.
