Oct 2006 An article by Ann Chapman on RDA: a new international standard has been published in Ariadne, issue 49.
20 Sep 2006 Representatives of the National Library of Scotland (Graeme Forbes) and the National Library of Wales (Robert Davies) have joined the CILIP-BL Committee on RDA, following a revision of the Committee's formal constitution.
3 Aug 2006 Version 1.0 of the RDA/ONIX Framework for Resource Categorization has been published. The RDA Editor will use both the Framework, and the recommendations of the GMD/SMD Working Group, in preparing draft text for RDA sections 3.2 (Media category), 3.3 (Type of carrier) and 4.2 (Content category).
3 Jul 2006 A prototype of RDA Online, the online (and main) version of Resource Description and Access, has been made available for comment. The prototype is intended to demonstrate the functionality of the software; the draft RDA rules included are for illustration only.
20 Jun 2006 A draft of of RDA Part A, chapters 6-7 (formerly known as RDA Part 2) was made available for comment.
1 May 2006 There have been some changes to the CILIP-BL Committee on AACR. Sally Strutt resigned from the committee, and Ann Chapman became the new Chair. Alan Danskin joined, and is the new BL representative to JSC.

11 Apr 2006 CILIP published the CILIP constituency response to the drafts of Part 1 of RDA and Chapter 3 of Part 1 of RDA (PDF file).
27-28 Mar 2006 An expert group met at the British Library, London, to discuss the adoption of a common high-level ontology of information carrier and content formats by RDA and ONIX. Work is continuing. See the JSC announcement RDA and ONIX launch joint initiative for further information.
22 Mar 2006 Gordon Dunsire gave a presentation on RDA: a new international standard (PowerPoint Show) to the 95. Deutscher Bibliothekartag (German Libraries Annual Conference), Dresden.
27-28 Jan 2006 Stuart Hunt gave a presentation on RDA to the Oslo University College workshop on implementation of FRBR.
