CILIPS CPD course content was designed to complement the CILIP Body of Professional Knowledge and link to CILIP Framework of Qualifications, the National Occupational Standard (NOS) framework and the NHS Scotland Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF).

The workshop introduced library and information staff to issues related to accessibility and inclusion and to develop knowledge and skills for accommodating the needs of different users.

• The legislative context including an introduction to the new Disability Equality Duty 2006
• Potential barriers for users
• Anticipating needs and meeting challenges
• Alternative formats, assistive technologies and freeware
• Making materials more readable
• Case studies in access and inclusion
