The remit of The Scottish Parliament - an introduction.
Through the powers of The Scotland Act and the recommendations of the Consultative Steering Group Report equal opportunities policy is 'reserved' to the UK government - i.e. it is not, of itself, a 'devolved' subject on which Scotland. This power is reserved to the UK to legislate for the whole of the UK.
