Equality and diversity > Recommendations
for CILIPS Council
These were agreed as follows:
- That CILIPS review internal statements, functions, website, services
and procedures in terms of mainstreaming equality and diversity in all
"as exemplified with particular reference to Scotland in the CILIPS
mission statement". The 1995 agreement should feature prominently
in the introduction to CILIPS and its work on SLAINTE
- That SLAINTE be developed as a resource bank to enable Scottish professionals
to share examples of good practice.
- That Information Scotland be used to promote the ED resource and
to encourage contributions from others
- That Council nominate an Equality and Diversity ‘champion’
to liaise with CILIP Panel on the Scottish perspective and keep Council
informed of any relevant issues.
- That CILIPS update web content and links based on recommendations
of a group set up for the purpose.
- That CILIPS coordinate the submission of material through SIGs, branches
and groups
Review of unsupervised children in libraries in a Scottish context
- Members agreed that an extra web page should be created on SLAINTE
to highlight CILIP policy and link to examples of best practice Scottish
guidelines. The page would also contain links to policies.
