Candidates must demonstrate:

Evidence of substantial achievement in professional practice

The process of introducing an information literacy programme requires a level of organisational change which could be considered a substantial achievement in professional practice. Supporting documentation could be created during the planning stage particularly when identifying the driver and researching the issue. Any advocacy materials produced - such as your business case and supporting evidence - could also prove useful. However, the process of assessing the impact of change is likely to prove the best source of supporting documentation since this will highlight your success in implementing organisational change, which will serve as a measure of achievement in professional practice.

Evidence of significant contribution to all or part of the profession (either contribution to a broad area of professional work or to work in a very specific specialised context)

Contributions to the development of information literacy programmes would fall into the specific context category. In order to demonstrate your contribution to the wider profession you could add to CILIPS online resources or publicise your work in library and information publications.

Evidence of active commitment to continuing professional development

Commitment to CPD would be evident in the training measures identified during the action planning stage and in identifying resources and skills at the implementation stage.
