Accessible e-content: the 7th e-books Conference The Conference programme features a blend of presentations, case studies and exhibition showcasing e-books and e-content technology. Organised by MmITS in partnership with SLIC and SCURL. Fees: £85.00 plus VAT.

Practical uses for Web 2.0 in the library environment (a Phil Bradley led workshop) MmITS in partnership with CILIP in Scotland is pleased to announce a new practical workshop for November. This will take place in the Edinburgh Training Centre in St. Mary’s Street, Edinburgh on 9th November from 10am until 4pm. Phil Bradley, the renowned Internet consultant, trainer and writer for CILIP Update will provide an informal and enjoyable overview of the current Web 2.0 landscape followed by plenty of time to try out the tools and advice on how to make best use of them. The workshop is sure to be a sell out and as there are only 24 places available please book early to guarantee your place. Fees: £75 CILIP members; £100 institutional members; £150 non-members.

The Highland Council’s Am Baile website has been at the forefront of technological developments and this presentation will focused on some of their experiences.

Enterprising E-Content: the 6th E-Books Event. This year's e-book event is being held at the Glasgow Metropolitan College on Fri 27 Oct from 10.00 to 16.00 The Conference will be chaired by John MacColl of the Digital Library Division at the University of Edinburgh. The Programme features the following speakers:Lorraine Estelle from JISC on the Report of the Needs of the HE Community; Janet Seaton from the Scottish Parliament on e-content; Sarah Prag from the BBC on their downloading and podcasting trial; Andrew James from East Lothian Museums Service on their podcasting initiative; Janet Guinea from Leicester University on SirsiRooms.
