A service of SLAINTE: Information and Libraries Scotland
MmITS is a Special Interest Group of CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals). MmITS aims to unite those members of CILIP Multimedia Information and Technology Group who are living and working in Scotland. Its members are engaged or interested in multimedia information and technology developments. MmITS enables communication and promotes professional interests across Scotland and across the library and information sectors.
You need to be a member of CILIP in order to join MmITS.
As a member of MmITS you will know that the Group has a very successful track record, particularly in staging events, hosting a website, and producing an electronic newsletter, E-MmITS. Much of this work is undertaken by the active committee, with welcome support from other members and often in conjunction with other CILIPS Groups.
In Oct 2007 we were involved in organising Accessible e-content: the 7th E-books Conference in partnership with SLIC and SCURL. We also assisted with the organisation of a practical Web 2.0 Workshop on 9 Nov 2007 in partnership with CILIP in Scotland.
We would like to encourage you to put yourself forward for the committee. Committee work allows you to contribute to the group, provides great experiences and good fun, is great for the CV, especially for those going for library and information professional qualifications, and doesn't take much time out of your life! Why not contact Paulette Hill e: Paulette.Hill@scotland.gsi.gov.uk t: 0131 668 8651. (MmITS Secretary) to find out more and put yourself forward.
The committee also encourages all members to introduce a colleague or friend to the group by bringing them along to meetings and events. It’s great to see new faces and we all benefit from attracting new members to the group. Looking forward to hearing from you, and to meeting you.
Paulette Hill, MmITS Secretary
