Welcome

Welcome! GALT aims to develop co-operation and knowledge-sharing between the academic and city libraries of the greater Glasgow area.

The GALT libraries work together to improve access to resources for library users in Glasgow and to ensure that the libraries of Glasgow speak with a single voice.

SCONE

Information about access to the collections of GALT libraries is available, including details of location, opening hours, special collections, online catalogues, and access arrangements for each library. This information is supplied by the SCONE (Scottish Collections Network) service.

Scotland's Information

A map of locations of GALT libraries is available, with details of opening hours, special collections, online catalogues, and access arrangements for each library. This information is supplied by the SCONE (Scottish Collections Network) service.

CAIRNS

You can also search the catalogues of GALT libraries in one go, using the CAIRNS (Cooperative Information Retrieval Network for Scotland) service.

Reciprocal borrowing schemes

GALT libraries are members of SCONUL Access, a co-operative venture between most of the higher education libraries of the UK and Ireland which enables staff and students to borrow material from other libraries. The level of service for specific groups of staff and students varies from library to library; check the SCONUL Access website for further information and instructions on joining the scheme.
