Welcome to the online edition of Information Scotland. This electronic edition of the journal is designed to complement the printed issue. It offers open access to the journal's articles in electronic form and acts as an archive of this content. The online edition fits in with other electronic services being developed by CILIPS. A current news and events calendar is available from SLAINTE.

Accessibility

The content delivered in the online edition of Information Scotland has been designed following the World Wide Web Consortium's guidance on accessibility. Other sources of guidance have been the National Library for the Blind's Library Services for Visually Impaired People: a Manual of Best Practice and the Royal National Institute for the Blind's Web access centre.

The articles are in XHTML format with presentation applied by Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). In this way the structure of the content is separated from its presentation, allowing personal preferences to determine the display format as required. Text size is set to the client browser's default and any variations in size are relative to this default.

Information Scotland meets conformance level A of the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Subscription information

Articles published in the online edition of Information Scotland are freely accessible over the World Wide Web.

The print edition of Information Scotland is published six times a year (February, April, June, August, October and December) in a glossy colour magazine format containing additional features such as a current news and events listing. The printed edition of the journal is free to members of CILIPS.
