This area of Slainte has been developed to support libraries in the use of emergent technologies, accommpanied by the joint SLIC and CILIPS publication, A Guide to Web2.0 in Libraries (pdf).
Whereas the printed document aims to serve as a broad promotional and advocacy tool for library services, this section of the website will deliver practical guidance and tips for working with Web2.0, as well as case studies from other libraries in Scotland.
SLIC and CILIPS believe that library services could benefit from the adooption of Web2.0 and social media and we are keen to encourage experimentation across the library community. The Web develops at a rapid pace, introducing new possibilities for us and our users.
We believe that is essential for libraries and librarians to keep pace with changes as they happen, both in order to meet users expectations in the present and to ensure relevant and responsive services for the future.
We are keen to have contributions and feedback regarding this new area of Slainte web services. Please use our online form to submit content.
