Introduction

The concepts of intellectual property rights, copyright and plagiarism are linked together. You should be aware of them when you carry out an information task to prevent being accused of cheating or indeed breaking the law. These laws are complex. If you are in any doubt about the legality of your actions, you should check the situation with your tutor.

We will explain the restrictions in dealing with the intellectual property of others and indicate what is allowed.
