Introduction

In looking at criteria for evaluating the suitability of information, found during an information task, we have mentioned three areas to investigate. These are:

• How well does the information match the topic area of your task?
• How deeply does the information go into the subject?
• Is the information presented at the correct level of language for you?

You can evaluate the information by inspecting it. All three criteria can be investigated by reading through the information.

However, an additional check is to work out the purpose of the information.
