SLIC invited calls for service improvement projects in July 2006, 8 developments were agreed. The successful awards are:

East Renfrewshire - Look@libraries Awarded: GBP 49,960

Falkirk – Accessible audio books Awarded: GBP 30,000

Fife – Taste IT Awarded: GBP 86,994

Glasgow – Get Glasgow Reading Awarded: GBP 50,000

Highland – Highland libraries: responding to community needs Awarded: GBP 51,090

Scottish Borders – PALM (Providing Access to Language Materials) Awarded: GBP 15,630

Stirling – Wireless Stirling Awarded: GBP 88,500

West Lothian – NETT(New Emergent Technological Tools) Awarded: GBP 68,572

Economic and Impact Study

The Scottish Government asked SLIC to commission an economic and impact study on the eight funded projects. SLIC engaged the services of economist Steve Westbrook to undertake this work in collaboration with consultant colleagues. A shorter Executive Summary has also been publsihed to highlight the study's main findings.
