Public libraries > Six Steps

The Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) has been working with Share the Vision on a new initiative called Six Steps, to help public libraries to address the needs of over two million print disabled people in the UK.

Six Steps is a simple benchmark that is easy to achieve and will make a significant difference to the lives of print disabled people.

SLIC is pleased to endorse this new initiative and all Scottish public libraries have already signed up.

A flyer (PDF - 137 KB) has been produced for library authorities to ensure that all staff understand what is required. For more information, please contact r.arthur@slainte.org.uk.

The Six Steps and supporting annex will also be available in full on The Reading Sight website.
